So this week is Cervical Screening Awareness Week and The Eve Appeal have launched The Red Lippy Project between 9th - 15th June 2013 to raise awareness, public knowledge and understanding of the role cervical screening plays in cervical cancer. Prevention is lower and cervical screening uptake is declining. This week aims to help raise awareness of the role cervical screening plays in cervical cancer prevention through range of events, campaigns, media coverage and material distribution, to get involved we will be posting about our favourite red lippy's this week!
Russian Red by MAC is my go-to at the moment! It is described as an "intense bluish-red", until you compare the two lipsticks, you could probably mistake this for Ruby Woo (as reviewed by Alice here), once they are actually swatched together you can see that Russian Red is a more lighter/brighter red. Russian Red has a matte finish (although, nowhere near as matte as Ruby Woo), so I personally like to prep the lip with a lip moisturiser to avoid any obvious drying out. This colour is fully opaque on first application and the finish means the colour lasts for hours! In simple terms, I would describe this as a more girly red, rather than a seductive red. This colour can be dressed down with simple make-up and then dressed up with heavier eye make up. I would say this is a must have colour for any make-up bag!
You can follow, like or donate to this project, so, be bold, be glamorous, and join the Red Lippy Project!
