2013 seems to be the year for French skincare, and if I'm honest, I'm very happy indeed! I always wondered why French women looked amazing with virtually no make-up on, and now I know!! La Roche-Posay's Effaclar Duo has blown up in popularity since the beauty guru Tanya Burr mentioned it's greatness in one of her videos. As someone with oily, spot prone skin I'm always cautious about buying moisturisers or lotions just in case they bring on an onslaught of breakouts or leave me looking shiny and my make-up melting off my face, so when I heard about a miracle elixir that not only mattifies my skin and prevents spots, I just had to investigate!!
|What to look for in store. This product retails for £13.00|
|How the tube looks!! The product itself is just like a white runny cream|
With 'duo' in the title, you might be wondering whether you need to use more than one product, this product goes hand-in-hand with thermal water, although you don't necessarily have to use them together, I've used it with and without a thermal water (I use Vichy's Eau Thermale) and results are still fantastic without using one. I use this product in place of a moisturiser both day and night. This little gem works well underneath make-up, and it gives you a great base to work with, and I think it is also great as a nighttime moisturiser too, whenever I put it on, I feel like my skin is having a good old drink and it leaves it feeling nice and refreshed as well as undeniably smooth. It does have a slight scent to it, but nothing overpowering and it fades away pretty quickly (not that I think the scent is bad at all!) and I just think that it is an all round great product!
This comes with a slightly hefty price tag, although I feel it has certainly been worth it. I've had the same bottle for over 2 months and it doesn't look like it will be running out anytime soon, so you get your money's worth in both quality and quantity. If you're looking for a slightly high(er) end product to leaving your skin clear but super smooth, then this is it! This is available in larger Boots stores and online.
